What frequencies would this heliax be used on.

Comment on Facebook

I don’t think it would be freq specific more likely how big their amplifier was !

The national grid🤷‍♂️

I would say it's low loss cable hunners of pounds a metre🤣

You’re gonna struggle to get that through the window frame

Would make a nice Swr meter patch cable for 11m ,

Various places, e.g. www.microwaves101.com/encyclopedias/coax-cutoff-frequency discuss the equations. Using hands for scale, I'd guess the outer conductor is 15cm, and the inner 5cm. This gives us an average of 10cm, and thus λ = 10*π cm=31cm. Apparently air-core heliax has a velocity factor of 0.93, so that gives us a cut-off frequency of around 900 MHz.

Everyone enjoy yourselves as I will be thinking of you. Got my Moonraker scanner up & running thanks to a dear friend who is also a keen radio amateur. One day I will make it to the Thorntree.....❤❤❤

It is the SEVENTH Club Night of 2022 and as we are now able to meet up Face to Face . Great to be back to normality and catching up with you all after such a long time. Hope you all try to come along. I know some are still very wary but it would be still great to see you back.
If there are any changes to the above, I will send out an email plus post it on the CPSARC Facebook page.

** CLUB FINANCES**

**** JUST A WEE PROMPT IF YOU WISH TO DONATE TO THE CLUB FINANCES ****
The new 2022 Club financial year started in January (runs from January to December) and if you would like to donate towards the club’s running costs, which is £24 a year then there are separate ways to do it. Normal club night the donation is £2 or whatever you wish to donate. (Must admit the Annual Payment helps me enormously, GM4UYZ)
Remember our Club Ethos is “would you like to donate” so it is up to you, but all the money goes to help pay for club expenses throughout the year.
**Payments can be via the following methods:**
*** Pay via the Paypal Link (Large Orange DONATE Button) by clicking on this on the club website (cpsarc.com) and what you put in goes direct to a PayPal Account that has been set up and the beauty of this that there is no additional payment to PayPal. Note the link from this button to PayPal was broken but it has now been fixed – thanks to John MM0JXI.**
*** Cash – You can put this via my door in an envelope (Remember to add your name on the envelope)**
*** Or pay at a Club Night**
*** Cheque – Payable to Cockenzie & Port Seton Amateur Radio Club. Send to my home address Can be found on QRZ.com**
*** Bank Transfer – Contact me direct via text, messenger, phone or email and I will give you the Sort Code and Account Number.**

Many thanks for supporting the Radio Club throughout these challenging times it is so appreciated.
Look forward to “Seeing” you on Friday
